LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Irons Middle School teacher Ian Klotzman is the ninth 2020-2021 recipient of KCBDâs One Class At A Time $500 donation and recognition sponsored by Frontier Dodge and Spirit Chrysler.
âIt is mind boggling,â Klotzman said. âI really believe every teacher, especially the ones I work with and the ones that I know, we all go that extra mile. We all put in the extra bit of something for our students, for our kids. To be nominated, to be recognized, itâs amazing. Itâs a great feeling but I also know that every single one of the teachers that I work with is just as deserving as I am of this award.â
Spring Break returns to Texas; A look at school plans and traffic enforcement for the week
A-J Media and Texas Tribune reports
Spring break kicks off this weekend for many students across the state, with some familiar features along with the all-too-familiar COVID-19 precautions.
As usual, the Texas Department of Public Safety is stepping up enforcement efforts as traffic picks up for spring break, even as Texas Tech and other major universities have scaled back their traditional mid-semester breaks.
And while spring break may look different for many universities, many area school districts are still planning to take the upcoming week off to give students a break. But to help students get through that time away from their regular school meals, Lubbock and Frenship ISD announced free meal distribution events through the week.
