I showed the design to Ted Boxall first, who loved it despite the inherent problems of re-subdivision (see later). I then gave Marr a set of prints so that we could have a proper design session. He loved the design and the perspectives, especially the one from the entry ramp. ‘Wow, Sammy! You are a real artist!’ (For obscure reasons I was known as Sammy in the architecture faculty). Marr was going to Penders the next day, so he decided he would look at the drawings in detail while he was there.

Halfway for Rozelle Interchange tunnelling
Construction of Australia’s biggest road infrastructure project has reached another major milestone, with Rozelle Interchange tunnelling passing the half way mark.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said more than 9,000 workers have worked on this stage of the WestConnex project, which also includes the Iron Cove Link.
“The NSW Government is committed to investing in major road infrastructure projects because we know improving our road network makes a real difference to people’s lives, while also providing much needed local jobs at a time when we need them most,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“The Rozelle Interchange is the missing link in the WestConnex Project and, along with the M4-M5 tunnels, will provide connections to the City West Link and the future Western Harbour Tunnel, while also bypassing Victoria Road.”

The contractor tunnelling beneath thousands of inner Sydney homes to make way for the WestConnex motorway has ruled out using explosives to blast through hard rock on the final stretch of the $16.8 billion mega-tollroad.
Joint venture contractor Acciona Samsung Bouygues previously sought planning permission to allow the use of controlled blasting to break rock for excavation on sections of the underground M4-M5 Link from Haberfield to St Peters.
Construction is underway on the Rozelle Interchange, which will connect the new M4-M5 Link tunnels with Anzac Bridge and Iron Cove Bridge.

A missing link in the popular Bay Run in Sydney s inner west will finally be completed as part of a $14 million upgrade to the waterfront at the historic Callan Park.
Under the plans, several dilapidated buildings will be demolished to make way for picnic spots, landscaped areas and accessible amenities. A car park that intrudes on the Bay Run will be shifted to allow for the area to be properly pedestrianised and the final piece in the pathway finished.
NSW Planning and Public Spaces Minister Rob Stokes said the plans were the first step in connecting the city s harbour foreshore with public parks and shared paths.
