Pleaded not guilty and her lawyers say it may have been a factor beyond her control that prompted this tragedy. Neighbors left flowers on irma grossmans porch, just steps from where the grandmothers blood still stained the ground. You dont know what goes on in peoples houses. Reporter it was irma grossmans own daughter susan who killed the 79yearold with a kitchen knife. The daughter had come to visit her mom monday afternoon. An argument ensued over the daughters ongoing medical conditions. The daughter enraged ultimately stabbed her mother to death. Reporter Nassau Police wouldnt say what that medical condition is, but later in court her lawyers said their client suffers from mental illness. She does have prior psychiatric history. Very serious psychiatric history. Reporter a Law Enforcement source says Grossman Kerner has already confessed to the murder. Her lawyer has asked she be put on a suicide watch.
