position. sure. so far the courts have not done that. they ve moved pretty quickly with a lot of their rulings surrounding this particular irk shoe. do you see that continuing to move forward? do you think the courts understand that the committee is also up against a timing deadline as well? i think they do. courts are used to dealing with emergency situations, emergency motions, time-sensitive motions. if you think about it, they address capital cases routinely and they obviously have to move expeditiously on that. they know the committee is meeting. they are certainly aware of the calendar and what 2022 brings and another election. they re aware the committee has a certain amount of time to review information now and they need it to continue that investigation. so if they re going to act, i think they ll do it very quickly. i agree with you that his tactic in the past has been to use delays, and he has at times been successful with that. but i think in this case he ultimately m
other side of the aisle? frankly they re afraid of donald trump s tweets. they re afraid of tweets? they re members of congress. they re members of congress but they re not stepping up. they re dragging their feet, timid about criticizing trump. we see anytime they make an independen decision, donald trump goes ahead and tweets and they fall right in line. they re in lock step with him. they can say whatever they want but they re in lock step with donald trump. you re saying essentially the entire republican caucus, including the speaker of the house, are being controlled by donald trump s twitter feed? at this point, yes, the republican majority in the house of representatives is pretty much, you know, responding to what his needs are. and i think that, you know, we ll see as we move forward, when we get really deep into the budget and other substantive stuff whether they ll remain in lock step. but for now they seem pretty much his groupies. absolutely. let s turn to anot
and mel robbins are here. danny, let s start with you. part of the reason this grand juror is doing this is to create change in the grand jury process. is this likely? even if the purpose is to change the grand jury process, that s not really the focus because it s not about whether or not it will improve a race dialogue in america, it s about the law. for the most part grand juries are supposed to be secret. that s not just an arbitrary thing, it serves a very important purpose and that purpose is that it protects witnesses, it protects evidence. so that s the system that we have. however, this is not a typical grand jury proceeding because we have a law criminalizing a grand juror from disclosing information that in this case the prosecutor has already essentially completely disclosed. so the spirit of that criminal law has arguably been completely undermined. so that is an important irk shoe here. now, the supreme court has only spoken on this issue and said that in the past that
done to move on to infrastructure and tax reform. if you look at this, this is a health care bill, but it s really just a whole bunch of tax reform. the pressure here that maybe makes a deal happen tonight is that conservatives need to show they can govern. they are no longer just the opposition party. they run washington. they need to show that they are not the same party that we have known for the last 6-8 year that is is constantly fighting and destroying every deal they try to put together. that is one factor weighing here. that said, this wasn t a huge issue for president trump. it was a huge irk shoe for the republican base. he ran on issues of immigration. he didn t have any issues related to details during the campaign. but president trump told us when he was candidate trump that he was going to repeal obamacare, it was a disaster, it was terrible, collapsing and he was going to replace it with something better that provided
