A new defibrillator has been installed at the Strand Hotel in Bray, in memory of the late John Connor.
John suffered a heart attack at that location and passed away on November 29, 2009 and his family gathered there last week to mark the installation of the defibrillator.
John was born in County Longford John in 1948 and in 1965 at the age of 17 he left Ireland s shores to find work in Birmingham, England.
There he met his future wife Heather at the Irish Centre in Digbeth, Birmingham City Centre.
They had three sons (John, Joseph and Anthony) and eventually in 1982 they fulfilled their dreams of returning home to Ireland.
