By Adam Daly Thursday 4 Feb 2021, 4:38 PM Feb 4th 2021, 4:38 PM 36,679 Views 5 Comments A PORTRAIT OF CervicalCheck campaigner Vicky Phelan has sold at auction for €46,500, with all proceeds going to healthcare charity, Heroes Aid.  Ms Phelan is currently undergoing an immunotherapy treatment in the US as part of a clinical trial which she hopes will prolong her life and afford her more time with her family. The artwork by Tullamore artist Vincent Devine tells the story of Ms Phelan’s life in three panels, referencing both her cancer diagnosis and her advocacy work.

Michael Flatley presents Mary Gamble of Barnardos with cheque after auction Reporter: newsroom@longfordleader.ie );   ); Festive spirit could be felt in the air at Castlehyde House, County Cork when Michael Flatley presented Mary Gamble of Barnardos with a €3,600 cheque. The funds were raised from the sale of a limited edition print of one of Michael Flatley’s paintings that was donated by the world renowned dancer. The auction of the print was conducted pro bono by auctioneer Michael Sheppard of Sheppard’s Irish Auction House in Durrow, County Laois. “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Michael Flatley for his support of Barnardos with this sale,” said director of fundraising at Barnardos Mary Gamble.
