Paramjit Singh to stand trial following death of employee

Body found at building site in Ling Dale A MAN will go on trial later this year following the death of a Southampton man at a building site. Kulwant Singh Athwal, 64, was found dead at a construction site in Ling Dale, Bassett, on July 16, 2019. According to residents, he had been working at a house which was undergoing extensive building work. On Friday last week Paramjit Singh, Iris Road, Southampton, accused of the manslaughter of Mr Athwal appeared at Winchester Crown Court. Appearing before Judge Angela Morris, Singh pleaded not guilty to manslaughter. He also denied a count of failing to ensure the health, safety and welfare of his employee, and another failure to ensure that his employee was not exposed to risks to their health and safety. Both charges fall under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Little Falls Man Hurt After Becoming Trapped Under Vehicle LITTLE FALLS – A Little Falls man was taken to the hospital after becoming pinned underneath a vehicle. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from a residence off Iris Road, about three miles southeast of Little Falls, on Tuesday around 8:15 p.m. Officials says the resident, 58-year-old Grant Prozinski of Little Falls, was found trapped underneath a vehicle in his yard. It’s unknown how long he was trapped there. Deputies were able to safely pull Prozinski out from under the vehicle. He was transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance.

Operating under the influence of intoxicants The Michigan State Police Hart Post arrested a 22-year-old Hart man for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants after a traffic stop at 12:37 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Cambpell and Hawley roads in Logan Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail. Warrant arrest The Mason County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 43-year-old Ludington woman on three warrants after being called at 8:08 p.m. Sunday at the Rodeway Inn in the 5000 block of West U.S. 10 in Pere Marquette Township. The woman had warrants for her arrest on two alleged misdemeanor offenses and an alleged felony assault. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
