Bursa Malaysia closes higher (Updated) 30 Dec 2020 / 17:55 H.
KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia ended higher today amid consistent buying momentum and in line with most regional markets.
The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) advanced 9.42 points to finish at 1,644.41 after moving between 1,631.77 and 1,645.31 throughout the day.
The index opened 0.61 of-a-point higher at 1,635.93 compared to Tuesday’s close of 1,634.99.
The overall market breadth was positive with gainers outpacing losers 656 to 507, while 465 counters were unchanged, 500 untraded and 62 others suspended.
Total volume decreased to 7.82 billion units worth RM3.65 billion from Tuesday’s 9.17 billion units worth RM4.22 billion.
As for heavyweights, Petronas Chemicals jumped 13 sen to RM7.50, Top Glove appreciated 11 sen to RM6.12, CIMB gained three sen to RM4.38, Hartalega soared 26 sen to RM12.20, while Public Bank was flat at RM20.70, Maybank eased one sen to RM8.57, TNB declined six sen to RM10.5

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 30 Bursa Malaysia’s key index opened higher but turned lower thereafter, weighed down by index-linked counters led by Maybank and Kuala Lumpur Kepong.
At 9.10 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 1.15 point to 1,633.84 after opening 0.61 of-a-point higher at 1,635.93 compared to Tuesday’s close of 1,634.99.
Market breadth was positive with gainers outpacing losers 310 to 187, while 358 counters were unchanged, 1,273 untraded and 62 others suspended.
KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia rose in the early session today, boosted by brisk buying momentum as the market heads into the final week of 2020. At 9.0.
At 10am, the FBM KLCI had jumped 11.14 points to 1,652.31.
Market breadth was positive with 536 gainers and 370 losers, while 402 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 2.67 billion shares valued at RM929.45 million.
The top gainers included KPower Bhd, Public Bank Bhd, CN Asia Corp Bhd, Greatech Technology Bhd, Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Bhd, Batu Kawan Bhd, Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd and JF Technology Bhd.
The actively traded stocks included AT Systematization Bhd, Fintec Global Bhd, Land & General Bhd and Iris Corp Bhd.
The decliners included Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd, Supermax Corp Bhd, Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd, Lii Hen Industries Bhd, AEON Credit Service (M) Bhd, Top Glove Corp Bhd and QL Resources Bhd.
