Fayose’s strong ally, Aluko, dumps PDP for APC in Ekiti

Former State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and strong ally of ex-Governor Ayodele Fayose, Dr Tope Aluko, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC).
Aluko was formally received into the party on Monday by the APC State Chairman, Hon. Paul Omotoso, at Ward B Secretariat, Iyin Ekiti, in Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area of the state.
Addressing the party leaders, Aluko said: “If you are from Iyin Ekiti, you will know that Governor Kayode Fayemi really favoured us in elective and appointive positions, so I am coming to add value to this party. I am not here to cause trouble.

Census: NPC begins area demarcation in Ekiti, warns against inducement of staff

National Population Commission (NPC), has held a Stakeholders’ Workshop to sensitise people on the flag-off Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD), warning against inducement of the field officers of the commission engaged in the enumeration.
The NPC which described the EAD exercise as key activities for the forthcoming population and housing census added that phase II of the exercise would commence in Ikole and Ilejemeje Local government Areas of the state.
In his welcome address at the occasion, the Federal Commissioner representing Ekiti at the commission, Mr Ayodeji Ajayi said that the commission had adopted a meticulous and gradual approach to the next population and housing census.

The Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has given assurance that his administration would provide an enabling environment for the conduct of a hitch-free National Population and Housing Census, anytime it is conducted.
Fayemi urged the people of the state to take the Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) exercise scheduled to commence on December 18 seriously.
The exercise is to lay a solid foundation for the conduct of the general census in the state.
The Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, spoke at the Stakeholders’ Workshop/Flag Off for the Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) held in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
