But behind a modest fence and mature shrubs on Tarewa Rd in Rotorua, there s a bunch of little houses filled with big-hearted workers who are making a real difference. Journalist Kelly Makiha becomes part of the Lifewise whānau to find out how they are saving lives and turning around our most desperate locals.

He was the loving Husband of the late Eileen (Kelly) Goodrich. He was born in Wallingford, CT, January 16, 1927, one of 15 children of the late Edwin and Mary (Chappo) Goodrich. Roy grew up in Wallingford during the Great Depression. Along with his brothers, Roy worked at the family fuel business, Edward Goodrich Fuel Company. Subscribe At age 18, Roy left school and enlisted in the U.S. Army during the final months of World War II, the 6th in his family to serve in that war. He served in the 3rd Infantry in Europe under General Patton.
