STURBRIDGE A wrong-way crash on Interstate 84 killed three people early Saturday evening, including a woman from Worcester.
State police responded to reports of a crash involving a 2009 Nissan Murano traveling west in the eastbound lanes of I-84 prior to Exit 6B around 6 p.m.
The driver of the Murano was identified as Deyja Jackson, 40, of Worcester.
Jackson s car struck a 2011 Volvo XC60, killing its driver and occupant, identified as Irene Karam, 83, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Patricia Knauer, 62, of Deland, Florida, respectively.
Video of the scene taken by a passerby a Telegram & Gazette reporter just after the crash showed a ball of fire and thick, black smoke that could be seen from some distance.
