CDO LGU reminds public of health protocols amid new Omicron cases

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The city health office (CHO) here has urged the public anew to strictly adhere to minimum public health standards against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) despite the alert status in the city being downgraded to Level 1. In an online briefer on Wednesday, CHO medical officer Dr. Ted Yu Jr. made the call after he reported the fifth batch of Omicron variant cases in the city. The CHO data showed that the new batch of Omicron cases here is comprised of seven males and seven females, respectively, from the villages of Lumbia, Balulang, Carmen, and Canitoan with two each; and also one each from Barangays Macabalan, Iponan, Bonbon, Bulua, Bugo, and Patag. CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The local government here will implement new vaccination strategies against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) to improve the immunization output in the city. "We are strategizing our vaccination efforts here in the city for us to address those missing numbers of our first dose target." Yu said the city government will start the house-to-house Covid-19 vaccination for senior citizens, as well as in bus terminals for other priority groups on March 7. CDO monitors 121 Omicron close contacts

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The City Health Office (CHO) here has intensified the monitoring of the first-generation close contacts of the second batch of people infected with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus disease 2019. In an online briefer Thursday, CHO medical officer Dr. Ted Yu Jr. said they have identified 121 first-generation close contacts of the recently reported 32 Omicron cases in the city. Yu said none of the close contacts, as of the moment, are experiencing Acute Respiratory Illnesses (ARI) or Influenza-Like Illnesses (ILI). Mayor Oscar Moreno stressed the need for intensive monitoring of close contacts even if it has been more than a month since they got infected. "It's been a month already but nonetheless we should continue (the monitoring).
