A group of eight Alberta volunteers with the goal of helping isolated seniors connect with their families during the COVID-19 pandemic has handed out hundreds of donated cellphones and tablets to continuing care facilities across the province.
Known as Project Joy, the project began early in the pandemic when founder Emily Jenks asked a Spruce Grove continuing care home what would be most useful to seniors who were being kept away from their families due to COVID-19 restrictions.
