We begin tonight with those protests calling for a ceasefire in gaza, intensifying at universities across the nation. And the bay area is no exception for a third night in a row, protesters are camped out at stanford. Nbc bay areas Marianne Favro joins us live on campus with a look at some of the protests and how universities are responding. Marianne well, right now there are 18 tents here in the middle of white plaza as protesters plan to spend another night out here despite a warning from the university that they could be expelled. During admit weekend at stanford, visiting High School Students found an encampment of protesters in the middle of

While demonstrations have turned violent at College Campuses around the country, this week here at cal, the Uc Berkeley Divest Coalition has led a peaceful protest. Students are taking turns camping out, and theyve grown from about a dozen tents on monday to more than 70 by friday. We have three kind of sleeping pads here, undergrad cecilia luna parra shows us around the tent shes sharing with five fellow bears. She was just elected to Berkeley City Council last week. Our tuition dollars are currently going to corporations that are aiding this genocide. Protesters are calling for the uc to divest from those companies to end its silence on gaza, to cut ties with israeli universities and to protect students organizing in support of palestine. Palestine will live forever. Pro palestinian campus protests continue around the country and here in the bay area. And tonight, demonstrators are refusing to leave stanford university. Three as students are exercising their First Amendment right and theyre doing what they believe to be right. Rallies, encampments and arrests all part of this nationwide movement on College Campuses.
