tip o neill in politics once said, former speaker of the house, all politics is local, all education is local. the president can do what he wants but the reality is this when the state of new jersey has an 11, $12 million budget cap where i live and they cut state funding to school boards. what does it mean? it means there are fewer teachers, larger class sizes. all of a sudden the principal in our school says your kid is not going to have 22 in the class, he may have 26, 28. its changes my kid s education. we need goals. i appreciate it. the last administration with the no child left behind. the bush administration. helped to ruin education at the local level. to have a president say this is an agenda issue that is top priority, we want all children to graduate from high school. it s a good thing. we need to have that strong message and set the bar high. you don t do it from washington. if you re a parent sitting at home, kansas city schools shutting down half of their
