Hear the Maryland Crunch is a virtual campaign highlighting the importance of the school breakfast program in order to provide healthy meals to students at the start of the school day. The event takes place during National School Breakfast Week each year. According to the program, students are less likely to be overweight when they have access to a school breakfast program. They also perform better in the classroom and are less likely to be absent or late to school.
