Tolland Alert Tweeted that crews responded to the second crash of the morning on I-84 and it was on the westbound side of the highway in the area of exit 68.

Group sues over Interstate 5 expansion in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) The group No More Freeways has filed a lawsuit against the Oregon Department of Transportation’s plan to add auxiliary lanes and shoulders to Interstate 5 by Portland’s Rose Quarter.
The federal government allowed the project to move forward without a full environmental impact statement and the group believes that’s a violation of the National Environmental Policy Act, The Columbian reported Monday.
The $800 million project is aimed at decreasing congestion and traffic accidents on a segment of I-5 between its junctions with Interstate 84 and Interstate 405, but it has faced significant opposition from No More Freeways and other Portland community groups that say the freeway expansion would increase pollution and contribute to global warming.
State Trooper Involved in Collision with Semi-truck Near Jerome
JEROME, Idaho (KLIX)-An Idaho State Trooper responding to a fatal crash on Interstate 84 in Jerome County was involved in a collision with a semi-truck Friday.
According to Idaho State Police, the investigation is being handled by the Jerome County Sheriff s Office, but said in a brief statement Monday the crash happened at around 6:45 p.m. on I-84 as the Idaho State Trooper was headed to an unrelated fatal crash a short distance away in a construction zone just east of Jerome. Traffic in the area was reduced down to one lane in both directions.
Man Killed by Flying Ratchet Near Jerome Idaho
A man is dead after a freak accident near Jerome. It happened Friday evening when a ratchet smashed through his windshield and struck him in the head. 51-year-old Javier Jimenez Negrete was driving through a construction zone on Interstate 84 east of Jerome.
Idaho State Police tell us it’s unclear where the ratchet came from.
When Negrete was struck by the ratchet he lost control of his vehicle and drove off the shoulder of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers, a child and 45-year-old Anselma Martinez Vazquez survived. All three were wearing seatbelts.
Police: Pair charged after road rage incident leads to gunfire in West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD Two people have been charged in connection with a road rage incident that led to an altercation and a gunshot being fired on New Britain Avenue, according to police.
Brandon Bottom, 34, of Ozark, Ark., was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, discharge of a firearm from a public highway, felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a dangerous weapon with a high-capacity magazine, carrying a pistol without a permit and carrying a firearm under the influence. He was held on a $500,000 bond.
