The purpose of the project is to correct the structural integrity of the roadway and improve traffic flows from northeast to southeast Jamestown and minimize safety risks at the existing BNSF railroad quiet zone crossing.
The Jackson County Commission approved a budget for 2022-23, which is about $265,000 higher than the current fiscal year.
The budget includes pay raises for full-time county employees.

(David Kidd) (TNS) West Virginia Department of Economic Development Secretary Mitch Carmichael unveiled a four-prong approach to spending $138 million of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds to expand broadband internet in the state.
He told the interim Joint Committee on Government and Finance that two programs are intended to rapidly expand accessibility, with both rolling out this summer, and two will help fund major investments in broadband infrastructure.
The issue with the rural Manvel property, a five-acre spread, is that it is the only residence served by a county-owned bridge. The bridge has flooded multiple times in recent years, and the homeowner could only access the property by boat.
