iGaming can mean different things to different people but in essence, iGaming involves playing or betting on the outcome of a game or event via the internet. Also known as online gaming, some of the more common activities include online casino gambling, online video gaming, sports betting, and poker betting.
Looking at some of the recent information surrounding iGaming, the growth has been incredible. By the end of 2016, it was estimated the iGaming industry was worth approximately US$41.78 billion and this is expected to rise to US$100 billion by 2024. This is according to research by the firm Transparency Market Research.

Rep. Jim Kasper (R) passed the house on Tuesday, while âThe Prairie Stateâ saw state representatives Robert Rita and Jonathan Carroll introduce a bill that seeks to fast-track online gaming.

On Tuesday, February 24, the North Dakota House of Representatives passed Rep. Jim Kasperâs
House Concurrent Resolution 3012 by a vote of 54-40. The bill, which was first covered by
PokerNews here, sought to pose a question â whether or not citizens want online poker â on the November 2022 general election ballot.
In addition, Representatives passed
House Concurrent Resolution 3032 by a vote of 70-24. That resolution sought to put the issue of sports betting on the general ballot. Now that both have passed, theyâll make their way to the Senate for another vote. The Senate is on recess until March 3, and Kasper told

A lawmaker in Illinois submitted a proposal that would legalize online poker and other casino games in the state.
Rep. Bob Rita filed HB 3142, which if passed would allow a casino or racetrack to offer up three platforms for online gaming. Within the legislature, it is being referred to as the Internet Gaming Act.
Rita’s proposed legislation, which was co-sponsored by Rep. Jonathan Carroll, would tax gross gaming revenue at 12%. Illinois legalized sports betting in 2019, which included online betting. The Internet Gaming Act would bring its gaming market up to speed with the state’s sports betting industry.
