Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou awarded Commander of the Order of the Phoenix medals to three distinguished US archaeologists – Dr Jack L. Davis and Dr Sharon R. Stocker of Cincinnati University and the director emeritus of the excavation at Ancient Corinth run by American School of Classical Studies in Athens, Charles K. Williams.
The medals were presented on the day of Philhellenism and International Solidarity Day, which is celebrated on 19 April on the anniversary of Lord Byron’s death in Missolonghi, and were offered to the archaeologists for their contributions to the study and promotion of Greek culture and civilisation.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya declared February 7th as the Day of International Solidarity with Belarus. It marks a six-month anniversary since the beginning of the mass protests in Belarus. Belarusian diaspora worldwide have joined the initiative following their campaign around the world to support their country’s fight for freedom.

Today, December 31 is the International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis. And this year it is special - the year was very successful for the country, the Azerbaijani army liberated the territory of Azerbaijan from the Armenian occupation during the Second Karabakh War, historical justice was accomplished, and in the near future the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan will become one of the most prosperous corners of the world.
On December 6, 1991, at a meeting of the Supreme Assembly of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, chaired by Heydar Aliyev, it was decided to establish the International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis. In order to adopt a legislative act in this regard, the Supreme Assembly sent an appeal to the country’s parliament - the Supreme Council.
