Recently, Ms. Elaine Ruiz-Lopez, administrator of the International Leadership Charter High School, accused local politicians of being guilty of an abuse of power regarding the proposed and ill-conceived charter middle school.

It always brings a wry smile to my face when I read pronouncements by the International Leadership Charter High School describing how it intends to deal with the issues the community has raised with regard to the micro-monstrosity middle school it’s proposing to build, on a parallelogrammatic 5,000-square-foot lot.
Led by state and city elected officials Saturday, nearly 100 residents of nearby Tibbett Towers, the Edwardian and Corlear Gardens voiced their opposition to the charter middle school being constructed at 306 W. 232nd St.
