Woodbridge is on track to get a new high school.
On Wednesday, the Prince William County School Board agreed to purchase 20 acres of land on Telegraph Road, near the Caton Hill Commuter lot off Interstate 95.
The school division agreed to pay $2.7 million to Springfield’s Travers Family Partnership for the property. Previously, the school division considered purchasing land near Prince William Parkway and Hoadly Road in Woodbridge.
This will be the 14th high school to be built in the county and is scheduled to open in 2024. The school will house 2,500 students.
