UAE’s MoIAT explores boosting defense sector
Dubai, UAE, 13 days ago The UAE’s Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) hosted the fifth session of its ‘Future of Industry Dialogue’ series which explored the future of the national defense industry and areas of focus during the upcoming period, such as entrepreneurship. Convening relevant local entities operating in the defense sector, the virtual meeting falls within the framework of the Ministry’s continued efforts to boost the UAE’s industrial sector and enhance the competitiveness of local products. CJCSC, UAE forces chief discuss Kashmir, Afghan situation

RAWALPINDI: General Nadeem Raza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), who is on a two-day official visit to UAE, called on Lieutenant General Hammad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithy, Chief of Staff UAE Armed Forces. The CJCSC also held separate meetings with all Chiefs of tri-services. During the meetings, both sides deliberated upon various areas of interest, bilateral cooperation including security, counter-terrorism and prevailing regional scenario, particularly with reference to Kashmir and Afghanistan. The dignitaries also deliberated upon measures to enhance the level and scope of military engagements between the two countries and reaffirmed to continue forging deeper strategic ties. Exhibitors describe the event as the most vital defence exhibition in the MENA region
1 of 14 The 15th edition of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX) concluded on Thursday, the Higher Organising Committee for the exhibitions announced, wrapping up the five-day events that seen extensive local and international participation. The major success of the 15th edition lies in that it was the first global defence event to take place in the post-pandemic recovery stage, with 62,445 attendees at the venue across five days. Nine hundred exhibitors, 59 countries, and 35 international pavilions participated in IDEX and NAVDEX 2021, alongside five countries participating in the exhibitions for the first time: Israel, North Macedonia, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Azerbaijan. The UAE Armed Forces signed AED20.957 billion (US$5.7 billion) worth of deals during IDEX and NAVDEX 2021. Five contracts with international companies and 15 w
