While the area is known for its natural beauty. the question is now: Will there be a better tomorrow for hundreds of thousands of refugees there, including Christians?.
COX’S BAZAR, BANGLADESH (BosNewsLife)– Persecuted Christian families “lost everything” when a fire raged through a refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar city in southeastern Bangladesh, killing at least 15 people, Christian aid workers say.
The devastating March 22 blaze affected five sections of the world’s biggest refugee settlement, forcing 45,000 people from their bamboo and plastic homes, BosNewsLife learned. Besides those killed, at least hundreds of people were reportedly injured, and tens of thousands are homeless, Christian aid workers explained.
PALMA, MOZAMBIQUE (BosNewsLife)– Dozens of people, including Christians, were killed and thousands forced to flee after hundreds of Islamist militants attacked the northern Mozambique town of Palma, aid workers say.
Among those killed since March 24 were seven people when a convoy of cars was ambushed in an escape attempt from a hotel, added Omar Saranga, a spokesman for the defense and security forces. Hundreds of other people, both local and foreigners, have been rescued from the town, next to natural gas projects worth $60 billion, he added.
Islamist terrorist group Islamic State reportedly boasted on social networking site Twitter killing at least 55 people, including Christians, Mozambique soldiers, state nationals, and “crusaders,” often a reference to Christian believers and Westerners.

YEREVAN, ARMENIA (BosNewsLife)– Armenia’s leading cultural authority accuses neighboring Azerbaijan of demolishing an Armenian Church in a disputed area.
The Armenian National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) said forces of the Muslim-majority nation destroyed the Armenian Church in the town of Mekhakavan, which fell under Azerbaijan’s control after a war last year.
We “Strongly condemn yet another act of cultural crime by Azerbaijan. As [British broadcaster] BBC found out the Armenian church disappeared after Azerbaijani got control over it,” said the Armenian National Commission on social networking site Twitter. It noted that before Azeri authorities demolished the Church, Azeri troops vandalized it and posted videos online.
Nigeria’s army is under pressure to improve protection for minority Christians amid increased Islamic attacks.
ABUJA, NIGERIA (BosNewsLife)– An abducted Christian schoolgirl, who refused to convert to Islam, has given birth to a second child while held captive by Islamist militants, several sources confirmed.
Leah Sharibu, held captive in Nigeria by terror group Boko Haram for more than three years, gave birth to the child at the end of 2020, Christian rights activists and her parents said.

JERUSALEM (BosNewsLife Columns)– A man claiming to be the Messiah rose from death Sunday after He died at a cross on Golgotha hill near Jerusalem’s walls, his friends said.
Jesus Christ had been tortured and crucified to death Friday, by Roman forces, after Jewish crowds rallied against Him for suggesting that He is the Heavenly King who will sit “at the right hand” of his Heavenly Father, giving eternal life to everyone who believes in Him.
A close friend, Mary Magdalene, said she initially had been crying after not finding Jesus Christ’s human remains in the Jerusalem tomb where He was hastily buried in time for the Jewish Sabbath.
