Challenges/Opportunities:
In April of 2013 I joined the University of Portland, a mid-sized Catholic university in Portland, Oregon. It didn’t take too long to discover that we needed to do something quickly to catch up with the growing technology expectations of students, faculty and staff.
Despite having a state-of-the-art data virtualized data center and a new VOIP unified communications system; we had not kept up with the need for: increased internet and wireless services; mobile applications; single sign-on; and having a private secure way to use social networking in the classroom.
