Elisângela Mendonça. Elisângela Mendonça is a London-based Brazilian journalist, specializing in environment and human rights issues. Her work includes an investigation into Amazon deforestation through BR-163, one of Brazil's main agribusiness trade routes, and an exposé on the links between deforestation in Brazil and British meat and dairy products. Her stories have appeared in The Guardian, The Globe and Mail, Mongabay, Dow Jones, The Intercept Brasil, Thomson Reuters Foundation, and others. Mendonça holds a master's in international journalism from City, University of London, a master's in economics and sustainability from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a bachelor’s in communications/journalism from Fluminense Federal University. She speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
