Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has intensified its monitoring efforts to ensure schools implement COVID-19 preventive and precautionary measures ahead of midterm exams for the second semester. The exams for students from Grades 1 to 11 will begin on February 24. Inspection teams from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) have intensified monitoring in schools to ensure the implementation of COVID-19 measures, said Adviser to the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Mohamad Al Bashri.
Speaking on a Qatar Radio programme yesterday, Al Bashri assured parents that the school environment is safer than outside.

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) represented by the General Cleanliness Department has intensified awareness campaigns to support State s efforts to host FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in a healthy and environmental-friendly manner. The Ministry has focused especially on awareness drive to influence the behaviour of people towards maintaining hygiene by shouldering their social responsibility, said Director of General Cleanliness Department at MME, Muqbil Madhour Al Shammari while speaking in a Qatar Radio programme.
He said that the strict monitoring empowered by the public hygiene law is also in place to punish the violators. Preparations are underway to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup in a safe and healthy environment, said Al Shammari.

On 17 February 2021, Al-Haq submitted an urgent appeal to the United Nations (UN) Special Procedures on intensified Yitzhar settler violence against Palestinians and their properties. Addressing five UN Special Rapporteurs, including the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, Professor Michael Lynk, the urgent appeal presented more than ten selected Yitzhar settler violence attacks, exemplifying Israel s institutionalised and systematic impunity, and showcasing not only how the Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF) illegally stand by passively as Palestinians are attacked by Israeli settlers, but also how the IOF further resort to using force against the targeted Palestinians.
Insurgency has intensified in recent months and a large number of civilians lost their lives. Afghan children are particularly left at the mercy of militancy and used as a cannon fodder by the Taliban elements. Children suffered several challenges in the country within the last four decades of war and their pain continues unabated.
Doha: Ministry of Interior (MoI) officials have intensified their efforts to take action against individuals violating Covid-19 precautionary measures in the country and have reported 437 violations in the country.
