Continuation of the diplomacy, but the challenge here is not finding an agreement between iranian president Hassan Rouhani or barack obama or u. S. Secretary of state and john kerry and Iranian Foreign minister, the real challenge here is finding a document in which both the u. S. Congress and the Iranian Revolutionary guards can agree upon, a document in which both israeli prime minister, netanyahu and iranian Supreme Leader can agree upon it, and i think that is the real challenges is finding a vin diagram in which iranian ideology, american domestic politics and Israeli National security all intersect. Rose we conclude this evening with a look at Silicon Valley through the eyes of reid hoffman, one of the foremost figure there is and the founder of linkedin. If you want to have an adaptive company and actually, in fact, you know, still be in existence 20 years, 50 years, 100 years from now, that is going to require you readapting yourself and you can only do that with entrepreneuria
[captions Copyright National cable satellite corp. 2014] [captioning performed by national captioning institute] coming up tonight at 8 00, a debate on evolution versus creationism with the science guy and author and founder of the creation museum, ken ham. Here is a preview. Worldview isn this that somehow no one and his family were able to build a wooden ship that would house 14,000 individuals, and there is a boy and a girl for each one of 14,000, andout these people were unskilled. As far as anybody knows, they had never told a wooden ship before. Furthermore, they had to get all of these animals on there, and they had to feed them, and i understand mr. Hamm has some explanations for that, which i find extraordinary, but this is the premise, and we can then run a test, scientific tests. Early 1900s built an extraordinarily large wooden ship, the wyoming. Masted schooner, the largest one ever built. It had a motor on it for whingeing cables and things like and it was not as big as t
And vote in favor of exempting this particular action to stop sunday meter parking. [speaker not understood] through that process then take over, perhaps look at this more closely and come to an opposite conclusion. In closing, what id like to say is the only possible way that you can read from a legal standpoint that you could read this ceqa exemption as applied, as the standard applies to the entire budget, and thats what happened here. Mta looked at this decision. I assume someone looked at it and said it doesnt specifically say exempt sunday metered parking. And it actually lowers revenue so theyre only able [speaker not understood] ceqa applies if we include it as a global exemption of the entire budget. Thats not what the exemption was designed for. As most of you know, ceqas was intended to be interpreted [speaker not understood], it was intended to be in favor of the public and gem enfull Public Disclosure of what is going on. So, with that im going to pass it on to my colleagu
It was an april fools joke of a vote that the sfmta rolled back sunday meters. They prematurely voted to repeal sunday meters by the future bond money and not invoke the november 2014 ballot measure funds. It is responsible to depend on funding that may or may not be available [speaker not understood]. It is disappointing after the give away the mayor has dropped his support for [speaker not understood]. There are [speaker not understood], and its time to stop playing chicken with public safety. Its not just the league and other transit advocates that show the environmental and traffic benefits to San Francisco. Sfmtas own data proves that enforcing metered parking on sunday was good for the city. And sfmta studied published in december 2013 that after sunday metering, drivers were able to find a parking spot twice as fast as before. The sfmta is trying to use loophole in the Environmental Quality act to try to avoid the legal requirement to analyze the environmental impacts of repeali
Statutory exemption, unlike a categorical exemption statutory exemption, if something fits into that exemption, then its exempt regardtionv of potential Environmental Impacts . Yes, absolutely. Ceqa itself, the state legislature determines or the guidelines determine that it that there are certain decisions that are simply statutorily exempt from ceqa . Thats correct, i would agree. Okay. Now, youve relied at least in part on you argued this statutory exemption cannot apply in part because it is a reduction in revenue, not an increase. As i read the statutory exemption, i read it differently. It talks about modifications, restructurings. So, i know the mta and planning take the position that if you look at the overall fees and all the different tickets and fees and other annoyances people deal with on a regular basis, that they have to look at all of that. But even if you look individually, the exemption does report on modifications and restructurings. I guess another question would be
