One year ago today, hamas militants launched an unprecedented multipronged attack on southern israel, descending on communities close to the border, killing 1,200 people, including 46 americans, and taking more than 250 hostages back to gaza. It was the largest massacre of jews since the holocaust, the worst Security Failure in israels history. In the years since, israel has turned gaza into rubble, trying to root out hamas.
