The letter was used by the press to ignore the story and by social media companies to censor content related to the story. Even the U.S. government used the letter to justify taking certain actions. The Post story has since proven to be accurate.
U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton said he wants the Biden administration to provide lawmakers with classified documents discovered at the residences of President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, and he is willing to "impose pain on the administration" until Congress receives those papers.
