The National Assembly (NA) approved the nomination of Imtiaz Ahmed Fazel for appointment as the Inspector-General of Intelligence (IGI) of South Africa on Tuesday.

Parliament’s joint standing committee on intelligence (JSCI) has nominated Imtiaz Fazel for the position of SA’s next inspector-general of intelligence.
Imtiaz Ahmed Fazel is currently the deputy director general in the public works department. If successful, he will succeed the former head of IGI, Setlhomamaru Isaac Dintwe, whose term ended on 15 March.
