TransferWise, which is one of the world’s leading international money transfer companies, has revealed its new branding – as ‘Wise’.
The new brand name will be launched for customers by March of this year, though the company’s mission will remain the same.
A senior figure at the firm said that the move had been made as the firm “catches up” with its user base and the offer that the company is building for them.
A leading provider of international money transfers has confirmed plans to expand its services abroad as part of a push to assist small firms based in key transfer regions.

Zwipe, which offers biometric payment services through its technology offering, will work with the Sweden-based firm Vopy as part of a new commercial card payment offer.
Vopy will act as a ‘commercial issuer’ for Zwipe payments, meaning that it will produce and offer cards – with an ambitious aim of offering half a million cards by next year.
Vopy said that it had a strong focus on security and customer experience, and that its values and those of Zwipe fit together well.

Routefusion, which offers an innovative application programming interface (API) to tech-focused financial firms that allows them to expand their international payments offerings, has received over US$3m.
It came from a number of sources, including NextWorld Capital, and it will take the form of seed funding.
A leading figure at the company said that the company’s goal was to reduce barriers to international payments so that they were as simple as paying by card.

TranSwap, which is based in Singapore but operates in a variety of key markets across the globe, will now open an office at the University of Edinburgh.
The office is expected to create more than 50 jobs, and will be focused in part on research and development.
A leading figure at TranSwap confirmed that the move to the UK had been on the cards for a long time due to the country’s status as a major stimulant to growth.
