middle of the mueller probe. in september, though, you said, look, the country is divided, but we cannot be divided anymore on the rule of law as elected officials. you say given, quote, the recent revelations, you now support an impeachment inquiry. it seemed that you did something that is so rare that you said was maybe having less often these days, which is you didn t oppose donald trump to the degree that you would just do anything to get rid of him, but then you responded to new facts, specifically on ukraine. so i would say that i ve seen some people express concern about national security. but i am concerned. i am more concerned now today than i was even about the division six months ago. still haven t this weekend i m going to sit down, read the intelligence committee report again, read what s come out of the judiciary. i have not told people what i m going to do, though. i am deeply disturbed by what i
process said this morning. the reason i m on capitol hill on a sunday is because members of the committee, the judiciary committee are meeting behind me right now. they re practicing for the big hearing tomorrow. and tomorrow is the democrat s next best chance to sell this impeachment wrr to the american public. so you re going to hear from house judiciary council, and they re going to lay out the legal argument for impeachment. and then you re going to hear from the house intelligence committee council who will present the evidence they found during their entire investigation. if you did not read the 300 page intelligence committee report, tune in tomorrow. this is going to be the audio or video book version of that with, though, some more interesting details. because the republicans are going to be involved. and you could expect their point of view obviously, but also perhaps some delay or stalling tactics to try to throw the
articles of impeachment, and it is the most important power that congress has and the sole power of protecting the american public from the president who has abused the power and a threat to the country. indeed. what will your articles of impeachment be that your committee will be voting on, and can you share it? you have heard jerry nadler saying that the vote could come as early as this week on that. that i suspect will come this week, but i don t know for a fact. we won t have the articles prepared until after the hearing tomorrow. and experts have testified on what was the intelligence committee report. we will hear from both sides and the majority and the minority and have our questions answered and until those questions are answered the articles will not be complete. how much are you factoring in the possibility of trying to gain republican support? i have tried to gain some republican support up here, and i have talked to a few members who were retiring and who are peopl
colleague, ken dilanian. his sources are telling him that a number of, he says the shooter s saudi classmates were led away by officials near the scene where that happened. so don t know the details of that, but certainly something we re going to be asking about as well. and another big question, alex, that s top of mind is about the weapon itself. one, how did he come in possession of that gun? we know that he did use a handgun in that attack. but the other question, of course, is how did he get it onto base? know weapons are not allowed, handguns are not allowed. so the big questions are what types of security measures were in place and how was he able to get that handgun on to base, alex? yeah, that is a huge question and we ll get answers to that, no doubt, with your help. blayne alexander, thank you for that. we have breaking news from washington this hour. the house judiciary committee just minutes ago releasing its report outlining the constitutional grounds for impeachment.
