good evening, jacqui. good evening to you, bret. we have just learned that president biden was briefed on the arrest of the suspected intelligence leaker. but the president was also in front of cameras speaking at a banquet dinner shortly after it happened. and made no mention of it. or of the intelligence breach. he also didn t use the moment to praise or thank law enforcement for protecting national security. and now both sides of the aisle have a problem with his perceived apathy. how concerned are you about this leak? that s not the feeling among congressional democrats. this puts our intelligence officers at risk. this threatens our military. this pus the ukrainians at risk. i m still not feeling calm about this. this is actually a leak that could have a real impact. or republicans. it benefits our adversaries and it certainly makes it more difficult for the united states to do its work. this is not a game.
and so we have not gone ahead and done that yet. but they are available for anybody who cares to look for them on twitter, telegram to see. it is something of an intelligence breach. we don t know yet whether they were leaked by ukraine or ukrainian officials or american officials. the documents date back to march 1st. they have maps they have equipment coming in. they re filled with the combat strength they say what the expenditure rate per incident is on himars, the armored systems that the ukrainians have been using and getting from the americans to launch to launch missiles so there is a lot of information in there and what pentagon officials and biden administration officials said to me, both yesterday and today, is they re very concerned because these documents display american sources and methods and we know that intel community uses that phrase all the time when they
didn t want these kinds of things politicized. but now no going back. in reacting to president trump s decision on brennan, senator richard burr pointed to brennan s op-ed in the new york times and replied director brennan s recent statement purport to know as fact that the trump campaign colluded with a foreign power. it s based on intelligence he received while still leading the cia why didn t he include it in the intelligence community assessment released in 2017. if it s based on intelligence he s seen since leaving office it constitutes an intelligence breach. if he had other knowledge of collusion it should be disclosed to the special counsel not to the new york times . if, however, director brennan s statement is political and based on conjecture the president has full authority to revoke his security clearance as head of the executive branch. so, rick, senator burr there is
colluded with a foreign power. if his statement is based on intelligence he has seen since leaving office, it constitutes an intelligence breach. if he had other evidence of collusion, it should be disclosed to the special counsel and not the new york times. his statement is purely political and the president has full authority to revoke his security clearance as head of the executive branch. what do you make of that response from senator burr? i respect senator burr, he runs a good committee in a non partisan way. as an american, i am free to disagree with him and do it in a friendly way. we don t have to hate each other. i do disagree with him. i disagree with him because because my belief that john brennan s conclusion is based on what he sees with his own eyes
