USAID said that its education programme has doubled its distribution of reading materials to help teachers and students at more than 4,000 schools in 19 provinces as the world celebrates World Book Day under the theme “Indigenous Languages”.
The One Community, One Book campaign held in Banteay Meanchey province announced three winners out of the more than 40 people who participated in the reading competition.
The One Book, One Community campaign will host a three-day book fair from April 8 to 10 in Poipet town of Banteay Meanchey province, after which the campaign will continue to other locations with a mission to promote reading culture and independent learning.
Sat Dich is a prolific writer who has entered many competitions and won several awards, including in 2014 when he won the second prize for poetry at the Together Against Corruption contest organised by Transparency International (TI) Cambodia.
The Kampong Speu Provincial Library, in collaboration with the “One Book, One Community” campaign, will hold its first reading competition in Kampong Speu province.
