This includes programs or activities which face management challenges, present budget implications, or could be administrated more efficiently. It is our goal to provide necessary oversight in order to ensure our armed forces achieve the highest level of readiness possible. Given the current threat facing our nation and budgetary pressure on the department of defense, accountability is always paramount and every dollar counts. Vigorous oversight can help ensure that mistakes do not happen and when they inevitably do, we learn lessons from missteps for this reason. I am very grateful that we have convened this hearing today on the recent Accountability Office report highlighting deficiencies found with the management and operation of the Law Enforcement support office, l e s o within the logistics agency. You have described to a degree, but if you could elaborate can you describe how you will prioritize and oversee the larger range of issues for which you will be responsible. Tell us, what in your history has prepared you to lead the department of health and Human Services. Tom price thank you. As you and members know the mission of the department of health insert health and Human Services is to improve the health, safety, and wellbeing of the American People. In order to do that, i am committed to that mission. In order to do that you have to put together teams of individuals in east each sector of health and Human Services. My history of where ever i was or the work i did in communities was just to bring forward greatest quality of talent that we could assemble. The second is to understand the scope and the issues. Clearly having the experience both in the clinical arena as well as the legislative arena you can understand the scope of issues. Finally, focusing on results. Often times

You know, over the last few weeks as wen trve beeng to bring the repeal and replace bill to the house floor, President Trump got directly involved and reached out to all members of the house and said, bring me your best ideas. And the good news is over that period weve seen so many members of our conference bring conference bring those good ideas. Starting with the Republican Study Committee. You know, as the Republican Study Committee started putting together some of those ideas, he brought them to the house leadership and also to the president. And what they found was a president and willing and open engaging in this process directly to get the best ideas pulled into this package that help us not only make it a better bill, make it a more conservative bill, but make it a bill that has a better chance to finally pass and get through the senate.
