A FORMER accounting trainee has a new, leading role within Armstrong Watson’s corporate finance team. Darcie Rae joined Armstrong Watson in 2007 before becoming a chartered accountant in 2014, working in the audit team. She then moved on to the firm’s corporate finance service line in 2015. The corporate finance team provide strategic advice on transactions to help small and medium-sized family and owner-managed businesses grow, either through acquisition or finance raising, and help people exit their businesses, through trade sales and management buy-outs. Darcie brings plenty of experience to her new senior role having been involved in seven completed transactions in the last 10 months, including the sale of Integrity Office Limited, a Carlisle IT solutions company, that was taken over by Eco Communications Limited, a nationwide firm operating in Cumbria and Scotland.

Leading Cumbrian accountant Armstrong Watson has announced the promotion of a chartered accountant in its corporate finance team.
Darcie Rae, a former Armstrong Watson accounting trainee, has been named senior manager.
After joining Armstrong Watson in 2007, she went on to become a chartered accountant in 2014, working in the audit team, before moving to the firmâs corporate finance team in 2015.
Darcie has been involved in seven completed transactions in the last 10 months, including the sale of Integrity Office Limited, a Carlisle IT solutions company, that was taken over by Eco Communications Limited, a nationwide firm that operates from bases in Cumbria and Scotland.
Home-schooling and working from home is putting pressure on many families juggling children and careers during lockdown. Throw-in poor internet connection, and unreliable digital connectivity, and it s a perfect storm for families struggling to cope. A new report says it can be even worse for many living in rural areas stuck with slow broadband speeds. But a technology specialist which recently bought an IT solutions firm says there can be some simple solutions to help families. Eco Communications, which bought Integrity Office Limited at the end of 2020, says its combined team can offer advice and help. Stephen Whelan, Technical Manager for Integrity Office Ltd, which is based in Carlisle and is now part of the Eco group and specialises in supporting small and medium sized businesses with IT solutions, says it’s a similar story for the business sector.
