OCPD Officer Hit By Car Door As Accused Shoplifter Flees Business Parking Lot, Police Say

Wednesday, December 23rd 2020, 6:26 pm By: Jennifer Pierce An Oklahoma City police officer recovered on Wednesday from injuries received following a chase with a shoplifting suspect the night before. According to the crime report, the officer was nearly run over as the suspect made a getaway from a northwest Oklahoma City business. As holiday shoppers made their final purchases, loss prevention employees at Kohl’s on the Northwest Expressway and Council Road watched for shoplifters. Two officers were called to the store Tuesday night for just that. Two women were seen on store surveillance cameras allegedly stealing from the business. “When officers got there the suspects were still inside the store,” said MSgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “The officers were able to figure out which vehicle they were in, saw the vehicle in the parking lot.”

Integris Chaplain Receives COVID Vaccine In Efforts To Continue Giving Hope To Patients

By: Anjelicia Bruton Integris Bass Baptist Health Center chaplain Perry Walker is now one of thousands of Oklahomans to receive Pfizer s COVID-19 vaccine. During this time, he said having faith is an essential part of being in a hospital filled with patients battling COVID-19. Walker is the only full time chaplain at our Integris Baptist. At many hospitals, chaplains are considered a necessity during the pandemic to provide a helping hand to those struggling to get through the day. “Before the pandemic, maybe 80% of my time was direct patient care and 20% was with caregivers. That mix has changed a little bit,” Walker said.
