09 April 2021 Type Event Proceeding On a recent Integrated Pest Management Webinar, which took place on Wednesday, 7th April 2021, Donall Flanagan, Teagasc Horticulture Development Department was joined by David Davidson, Technical Consultant with Koppert to discuss aphid pest control. David gave an insight into the strategies for aphid control using IPM methods in a range of protected ornamental and horticultural crops. He also introduced the latest developments from Koppert to help in management of aphids and some other pests. These include Aphiscout containing 5 different parasitic wasps and Lacewing egg product. 08 April 2021 Type Event Proceeding On a recent Integrated Pest Management Webinar, which took place on Tuesday, 30th March, Donall Flanagan and Eamonn Kehoe, Teagasc Horticulture Development Department were joined by Dr Clare Sampson, Technical Director with Russel IPM to focus on traps and pheromones for thrips and pest control. Sticky traps are a well-tested monitoring product. The use of roller traps and pheromones are growing in popularity due to their effective role in pest control and managing insecticide resistance. Dr Clare Sampson, discussed the uses of monitoring traps for the control of thrips and other pests in strawberry and protected ornamental crops.
