socaltech.com Venice, California-based StackCommerce, which develops a white-label marketplace which is used by publishers and brands to help connect people with products, has been acquired by Integrated Media Company (IMC), itself owned by private equity investor TPG. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Stack Commerce is led by founder and CEO Josh Payne. According to StackCommerce, its partners earned more than $175M on its platform. The companies said that StackCommerce was advised by investment bank CG Petsky Prunier (part of Canaccord Genuity) in the deal; the company s legal advisor was Cooley LLP.

StackCommerce’s affiliate buying platform has distributed more than $175 million on its platform by going directly to merchants. Through its platform, publishers can make between 15% to 20% of gross compared with 5% on an affiliate marketing site. StackCommerce takes 30% to 40% of the transaction, according to a person with knowledge of the company’s operations.
