commit any crime or violent policy in the shooting. bates who the tulsa world reports is an insurance executive who has donated thousands of vehicles guns and stun guns from the sheriff s office, was not an active member of the violent crimes task force, but according to the paper, bates volunteered time as an advanced reserve, requiring 800 hours of training to perform the duties of a full-time deputy. this is george zimmerman s story playing out in tulsa, oklahoma. if george zimmerman had the resources to buy his way into a special program which helps to subsidize public expense of crime control, george zimmerman would have very well been that gentleman in this case. i will just say that s not a legal truism you re offering that in part because mr. zimmerman wanted to be a legal
everybody s health care premiums will spike through the roof. where do you think the money comes from? the exact same people, your tax dollars. there isn t a money tree in washington where this money is miraculously coming out of the sky. it s hard-working people s money either way paying for people who couldn t afford insurance before because they use a lot of insurance out of the system. they use a lot of health care because they are already ill or not working. we are all paying for everyone else to have insurance. emily is right. it is the key component of it. it s unclear what will happen because if the government mandated you go to college and subsidized everybody who couldn t afford to, removing that subsidy isn t going to make tuition go up. it will go down because there is less artificial demand for insurance. that s one thing to think about. another thing, the people that are going to get the subsidies, this is an economic show so we ll talk about are the poor people who don
from now. bill: yeah. what are the insurance companies doing with all this back and forth, this ping-pong match here? i imagine their heads are spinning. how are they dealing with it? well, you know, the interesting part was the insurance industry was one of the biggest supporters of the affordable care act, and of everybody who s sort of taken it in the neck in this process, the insurance companies are sort of number one. so the biggest supporter, i think, the administration has taken the most advantage of. and if i m an insurance executive at this part, i have to be very, very disappointed in the way our industry s been treated after we were very supportive of the act to begin with. bill: you re very interesting to talk to, stan, thank you, out of oklahoma. enjoy oklahoma, okay? thank you. bill: we re jealous to. [laughter] jamie: this could be a possible game changer for college sports. a federal labor board has ruled that northwestern university football players can unionize,
elizabeth cohen, our senior medical correspondent. i m guessing there s going to be a lot of tension in the room given the fact that the president quite frankly has not been very nice to these insurance executives. i imagine that there s going to be lots of tension because of the severe criticism. oh, rosa, i would love to be a fly in the wall at that meeting because i think it is going to be quite heated. i was actually speaking with an insurance executive who said they re infuriated because three years ago, the president said we want you to get rid of your policies and create new policies, and then in the ninth inning, as he put it, the president then said, oh, you can go back to the old policies, and the executive i was talking to said we have whiplash. administratively, this is a mess. financially, this is mess because we made all our forecasts based on doing what the president told us. and he said it s now we re going to look like the bad guys if we don t uncancel the policies t
this point, but i think lots of republicans are saying we did tell you so and snickering in the background while americans, i think are focused on two things. one is, can this be fixed? they would like to see something done about the status quo in terms of health care in this country but the second thing to point out to you, is, even as democrats are panicky about what s going on now, and political damage that you see to the president, his pole numbers plummeting, don t forget the overall rating for congress and specifically republicans in congress is far lower. they would be the delighted to have 39% approval rating. martha: well, you know, juan, make as good point, mary catherine. we ll see what happens. we spoke to a insurance executive says he does believe will shop around, you know what? it is okay. i got a different policy and world will go on. first of all, juan, touchdown dance is awesome. if i do it you will notice. yes i will. second of all, i think the problem going fo
