year is a kind of republican hispanic candidate who could hold off this move by democrats if it s successful. if not, then you see democrats moving, and i think ultimately it will happen, if not in four years, certainly six or eight years, when democrats will begin to win again big time in texas. you mentioned george p. bush, jeb s son running. what about the hopes of jeb. when this country thinks of tex athey think of that as bush country. what about jeb s hopes for 2016 if something like this happens or at least the inroad is laid now so early on. that s only that s absolutely good both for the republican party nationally and, frankly, for his son george p. bush from texas. george p.il will run for a statewide office here and set himself up for a possible gubernatorial run in 6 to 8 to 12 years in texas. jeb bush is exactly the kind of republican who might be able to hold off an appeal to this growing hispanic constituency in states like texas and
system of rules that allows high capacity magazines and clips. nobody is talking about universal bans on handguns, when we think of what common sense regulations that there can be, that actually doesn t do anything to sort of address what happened in december, which is, you are right, a lot of people got scared and wanted to arm themselves. we do live in a culture that is far too violent and full of fear. one thing that came out of the listening sessions in the white house with the vice president, he made mention about magazine clips, when giving a post debrief about his meetings. is that where the white house is going to be seen to have made a successful inroad in legislation is to do it small and
inroad, if it ticks upward, it s an inroad for the president to lose ground. absolutely. or to gain ground. i ve been saying for almost a year, for all the story lines it will come down to how you feel going into the voting booth. do you feel richer? do you feel poorer? do you feel confident about the state of the economy? so, if we get a good unemployment number, a good jobs report on the friday before that tuesday, i think that s a huge boon to the president, and conversely if that number s bad, i think romney probably has this sewn up. i really think that is the number that matters. if you were an obama strategist, what would you say about the jobs report that comes out on friday? i wish we agreed with that, but if we look over the course of the campaign, we ve had good jobs numbers and bad jobs numbers and it hasn t really seemed to move the needle. i think most people have a sense of how they feel about the economy and the unless of right track, wrong track have been moving
jewish voters for whom israel really is the number one concern and as you mentioned, they ve had issues with obama from the beginning. many were with hillary for precisely that reason and let s not forget, i can say this, i m jewish there is a lot of jewish money in politics. i think former president bush made major inroad there is and it wouldn t surprise me to see that mr. romney may collect some of that, quote, israel jewish money that s still not sure about obama. rick: sheldon aidleson, the casino magnet, of course, is throwing around probably as much money as anybody else out there and he is largely funding a new media campaign ads that are targeting specifically targeting jewish voters. why do you think there is such distrust among some in the jewish community when it comes to president obama and israel? well, i think it goes back to the campaign when he was talking
economy overall. don t even get us started on europe or the tax cuts set to expire and spending cuts due to kick in a few short months from now watching it all is fed chairman ben bernanke who is trying to explain to congress live pictures right now what if anything he plans to do about it without saying too much. felicia taylor is watching from the new york city. felicia, what have we heard and learned so far? reporter: it s a careful dance because obviously the federal reserve chairman can t come out right and say anything ahead of the federal reserve meeting which takes place at the end of june, june 19th and 20th. so it s interesting that the expectation was that the stock market would actually rally in yesterday s session on the fact they were expecting to hear something. what he s been doing though is basically sort of admitting there has been slower than desirable growth in the marketplace and there could be room and the fed has left the door open for further sti
