Ahead of her much-anticipated album Nqaba Yam, which is set to be released in June, singer and songwriter Zahara has released a single.
Speaking to SunBuzz Zahara, whose real name is Bulelwa Mkutukana, said Nyamezela is about holding onto hope even on days of adversity.
“
Nyamezela is a beautifully written song which I believe many people will relate to. It talks about enduring tough times,” she said.
“As a nation, we’ve endured enough with the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the song also speaks to today’s current situation with the pandemic, I wrote it while I was going through a difficult period in my life.

‘Nyamezela’, which means to persevere, is the lead single off her upcoming album, ‘Nqaba Yam’.
It was released on Friday, 7 May.
The SAMA award-winning singer lost her elder sister Nomonde Mkutukana in March.

The death of her sister comes a few years after she lost her little brother, who was gunned down in a gang fight.

Small businesses in Nelson Mandela Bay have vowed to get Eastern Cape premier Oscar Mabuyane to intervene in the impasse between them and mayor Nqaba Bhanga on a R46m housing project.
About 40 SMME owners sang and demanded Bhanga’s attention behind the Gqeberha City Hall on Tuesday morning.
