Qatar is set to snatch back the ranking as the worldâs most powerful LNG exporter after pressing the button on the biggest expansion project so far, which will have an ultra-competitive cost of production.
Costing $US28.75 billion ($37.2 billion), the 33 million tonnes a year North Field East project will also raise the game on the carbon front as it will include what will be the worldâs largest carbon capture and storage project.
