General raymond is a native of virginia, but a very proud graduate of clemson university. When he graduated in 1984 and was commissioned as an air force officer, his first assignment was in north dakota, where he and his wife were recently both honored at the university of north dakota, where i was humbled to be president earlier. His last assignment in the air force was at Peterson Air Force base, now space force base. I got to work with him there were no was president of the university of colorado. He became the first need for the Space Command just three years ago, but soon after that, was assigned to be the first chief of space operations.
