Waterloo Region issued 35 enforcement actions this past week for contravening COVID-19 public health protocols, including a ticket issued to a local brewery for offering dine-in service.
Nearly three dozen more tickets have been issued in Waterloo Region for disobeying rules around COVID-19.
Regional Chair Karen Redman provided the update during Friday s community briefing.
She noted 35 new enforcement actions: 18 from May 20 to May 26, and 17 from the previous reporting period.
The vast majority were tickets handed out by police. Waterloo Regional Police Service issued 27 tickets under either the Reopening Ontario Act or the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act - with a total payable of $880 each, said Redman.
One ticket was issued following an anti-lockdown rally in Uptown Waterloo on May 2, while 19 tickets were issued after another anti-lockdown rally was held in the same location on May 9.
