Cleveland police officer Daniel Piper, a 10-year veteran, shot and killed Innes Lee Jr., 25, on the city’s East Side. Lee had outstanding warrants for murder and aggravated robbery, according to officials and court records. A day earlier, a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent shot a man on the East Side. In other news, state health officials are monitoring an investigation into what may have caused a 21-year-old University of Cincinnati student to die suddenly last Sunday, about a day after he received the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine. And advocates for passenger trains want to move Cleveland’s Amtrak station back to Tower City Center, an idea that would be very expensive, along with other complications.
