The City of Johannesburg has been described as a developmental local government that aims to improve the quality of life of all its residents.
Vital to this are its on-going urban regeneration and renewal projects. Development nodes are identified and steps are taken to upgrade the area, supporting local business and encouraging economic and social development investments.
The City intends to establish a clear structure of urban nodes well integrated with movement systems in Johannesburg, with an emphasis on new economic nodes in disadvantaged areas. Areas include the inner city, Soweto, Alexandra and Randburg.
