Inn Cornwall pub landlord Mark Holden s industry fears post Covid

The landlord of three Cornish pubs has explained how they have managed to survive the pandemic so far – but he fears for the industry as a whole. The hospitality industry has arguably been one of the sectors worst affected since the World Health Organisation declared Covid-19 a global pandemic on March 11, 2020, with most pubs, clubs and restaurants currently closed across Britain for a third time. Mark Holden is company director of Inn Cornwall, which incorporates the Norway Inn at Perranarworthal, the Victoria Inn at Threemilestone and the Victoria Inn at Roche. He said: “At the beginning of March, before the pandemic was declared, I was part of a focus group to consider the impact of coronavirus – unaware of what was ahead. Feeling inspired, and slightly scared, we [Inn Cornwall] worked on looking at ways of working differently with the help of a variety of different partners.
