An Inishowen Councillor is urging Donegal County Council to write to the Health Minister as a matter of urgency to make life-saving Amyloidosis treatment available in Ireland. Councillor Terry Crossan will bring forward a motion at the Council s next plenary meeting, on the non provision of the Amyloidosis treatment, Patisiran. Cllr Crossan says it is unjust that the high number of people in Donegal living with the condition cannot get access to the drug which is available just across the border in Northern Ireland. He says action must be taken to allow access to Patisiran for all:

An Inishowen Councillor is seeking an urgent meeting with the Housing Minister to discuss ongoing concerns over the Mica redress scheme. Issues for Mica affected homeowners in Donegal in accessing the scheme have been repeatedly highlighted locally and nationally. After a lengthy campaign, the announcement of the scheme was widely welcomed but a number of what Councillor Albert Doherty termed as deficiencies have since emerged. He is hoping the Minister will take action now as cross-party pressure mounts:

An Inishowen Councillor is calling on people to continue to comply with Covid-19 restrictions. It s after Gardai discovered a large group of youths gathered at the football pitch and beach in Culdaff on Saturday night. Gardai say there was evidence also of underage drinking.
